2 dear mom
design by HEATHER MOLL
Heather celebrated her mom with
extensive journaling written as a
heartfelt letter.
TIPS
• Plan ahead. Heather organized her
thoughts by typing her journaling first.
She then copied it on the page by hand
for a personal touch.
• Think minimal. When journaling is the
focus of the page, keep the accents
and photos simple. Heather used just a
few felt buttons and some coordinating
patterned paper in her design.

paper: Font Werks (orange), My Mind’s Eye (brown),
Stampin’ Up! (cream). Stickers: BasicGrey. Flowers:

1 bestest mom
design by MELISSA INMAN
Give the kids in your life a voice on a
mom page with a twist. For this layout
Melissa asked her son and daughter to
share what they love most about her.
TIPS
• Split personalities. When journaling
from multiple perspectives, use
separate blocks. Melissa placed a list on
either side of her photo, then had her
Airplane (“reasons I...”), Sidewalk Chalk (heart)
by Two Peas in a Bucket, Century Gothic (journaling).
Stickers: American Crafts. Chipboard accents: Fancy kids sign their names at the bottom.
• Size it up. Stuck in a scrappin’ rut?
Try on a new size. Melissa had the
idea for this page but couldn’t make
it work on her usual 81∕2t11" layout.
Experimenting with a 12t12" design
gave her the freedom to create this
memorable page.
