2 modify a lampshade
design by SHANNON TIDWELL
Replace the material from an old lampshade with four
flexible plastic sheets.
1. Shannon traced one side of the original
lampshade’s metal frame onto tracing paper,
making her pattern a bit larger than the frame so
she could overlap the shade’s seams.
2. She used the pattern to cut out each of the plastic
sheets (use temporary adhesive to hold the pattern
in place as you cut).
3. Stack the four sheets and punch holes along both
sides so they line up.
4. Lace the sheets together at each corner and secure
them to the frame with thin ribbon. Add adhesive
ribbon at the top and bottom of the shade.
Note: For safety purposes, use a low-watt night-light
bulb for this project.
